5.3.2.2 Staurolite
the distribution of Staurolite in the metamorphic rocks in this area is only found in the lower Maling formation (qbx) of Proterozoic Qingkou system (table 5.1). The lithology is mainly various schists containing Staurolite, which are associated with andalusite, garnet, hard chlorite, mica and other minerals. The cross stone in the thin section is light yellow, weakly polychromatic, high normal protuberance, and obvious rough surface. In the contact metamorphic rocks, the sieve like meta crystalline structure of the cross stone is obvious, and the double crystal is rare
The EPMA data ofStaurolite are listed in table 5.9, and the calculated crystal chemical formula is listed in table 5.10. It can be seen that the main differences between the compositions of regional metamorphic rocks and contact metamorphic rocks are the contents of SiO < sub > 2 < / sub >, MnO and MgO. The contents of SiO < sub > 2 < / sub >, MgO and MnO of regional metamorphic rocks are higher than those of contact metamorphic rocks
Andalusite is mainly distributed in qingshuijian formation (CQ) and xiayangjiatun formation (Cx) of Carboniferous system (table 5.1), and the main rock types are andalusite hornfels and andalusite schists. The andalusite under the thin section is mainly colorless, light pink, square and rectangular phenocrysts with ring structure. The core is pink and the periphery is colorless. Generally, andalusite is associated with garnet, staurolite, mica, sillimanite and other minerals, resulting in pyrophyllization The EPMA data ofandalusite are listed in table 5.9, and the calculated crystal chemical formula is listed in table 5.10. It can be seen that the contents of FeO, MnO, MgO, Cao, Na < sub > 2 < / sub > o are higher in the core than in the edge, while the contents of SiO < sub > 2 < / sub > and Al < sub > 2 < / sub > o < sub > 3 < / sub > are basically the same or slightly lower, which may be the main reason for the formation of the polychromatic zoning of andalusite
Hard chlorite is widely distributed in Xishan area of Beijing. The low metamorphic rocks containing hard chlorite (such as schist, slate, etc.) are widely seen in Neoproterozoic Mesozoic. They are mainly found in the lower Maling formation (qbx) of Proterozoic Qingkou system to the Yaopo formation (JY) of Jurassic system (table 5.1), and also in diabase. They are distributed in intermittent belts, forming the so-called Xishan hard chlorite belt and also found near the structural fault zone. Hard chlorite is generally dark green, columnar, plate-shaped or granular, radial, bundle like aggregate, generally 1-2mm in size, with obvious polychromism, colorless to light yellowish green, flake bicrystal development, belonging to monoclinic hard chlorite. The data of EPMA analysis are listed in table 5.9, and the crystal chemical formula is listed in table 5.10
