how does BMAT score? How to score in BMAT
the questions in sections 1 and 2 have a value of 1mark each. The total raw score for each part is converted to a BMAT rating from 1 (low) to 9 (high). A typical BMAT candidate will score about 5.0, about half a point. The score of the best candidates will be around 6.0, and the score of a few exceptions will be higher than 7.0< In the third section, two examiners scored the writing tasks. Each examiner gives two scores - one is the quality of content (0-5), and the other is the quality of written English (a, C, e)
combine the scores in part 3: if two scores of the content are the same or differ by no more than one score, the candidate will get the average of the two scores. If the two scores of written English are the same or differ by no more than one, the scores are combined as follows: AA = a, AC = B, CC = C, CE = D, EE = E
for example, one examiner gives a 4-point, another gives 4A a 4-point writing task, and the final score is 4. If one examiner gives 3C a writing task and the other gives 2c, he will get a score of 2.5c
if there is a greater difference in the score, the writing task will be scored for the third time, and the final score will be checked by the senior evaluation manager.
