③ 乌柏林根空难的介绍
2002年6月29号，受联合国教科文组织的邀请，俄罗斯45名青少年准备飞往西班牙，在巴塞罗享受为期2周的旅行。他们之中有绘画神童，有体操冠军，全是最聪明、最有才华的孩子，堪称“精英少年团”。不料，领队搞错了机场误了航班，只好改签2天后的机票。
7月1日晚，一架客机顺利起飞，带着孩子们踏上了前往巴塞罗那的旅途。与此同时，千里之外的意大利贝加莫国际机场，一架满载货物的波音757货机，起飞前往布鲁塞尔。两架飞机的航线，在德国南部上空相交。
当天晚上，在瑞士苏黎世空管中心，值班的是彼得·尼尔森和另外一名空管，他们负责调度德瑞边境上空的飞机。由于夜间的飞机很少，尼尔森的同事居然翘班出去溜达了，相隔几米远的雷达显示屏，就留给尼尔森一人看管。
晚上11点10分，技术人员来到空管中心，准备维修雷达。这项工作不仅要关闭通话系统，而且维修工作一旦开始，雷达扫描速度就会变慢，当飞机距离过近时，不会产生警示图像。这一番举动，为后面的悲剧埋下了导火索。
此时，俄罗斯的客机，正朝着瑞士飞去。离开德国领空进入瑞士之后，德国空管将飞机指挥权交给了尼尔森。
另一家波音757货机，也刚刚飞越阿尔匹斯山，准备进入瑞士领空。机长菲尔普斯请求爬升高度，这样稀薄的空气就会减小阻力，同时节省燃料。
空管中心批准了这一请求，波音757货机很快爬升至10800米的高度。然而，图-154客机也在同一高度，并且处在相撞的航线上。只是当时距离还很远，暂时没有危险。
在空管中心，一个人值班的尼尔森正忙得不可开交，却又不断接到新的调度任务，他只好在两块雷达显示屏前来回移动，保证调度任务顺利进行。但是他没有发现，图-154和波音757飞机，正以1000公里的时速，朝着对方飞过去。
一般情况下，只要飞机距离过近，雷达会提前发出警报，但是这一次，设备居然出了故障，没有正常工作。德国的空管中心发现了异常，但是按照国际规定，他们无法直接与飞行员通话，只好立刻通知尼尔森，让他进行调度。让人遗憾的是，尼尔森的电话死活打不通。
就在两架飞机即将相撞的时刻，尼尔森终于发现了不对劲，他立刻指示图-154客机下降高度。但此时，飞机上的防撞系统却发出警示，让飞机爬升高度。面对这两条指令，机长亚历山大觉得还是人的指令比较靠谱，没有听从防撞系统的意见，随即取消了自动驾驶，推杆下降高度。
波音757的尾翼就像一把利刃，将图-154客机砍成两截，飞机瞬间爆炸解体。波音757失去了尾翼，在空中坚持了2分钟之后，也坠毁在德瑞边境的小城——乌伯林根。
飞机坠毁后，德国出动6千多人的救援队，寻找可能幸存的遇难者。然而经过6天的搜救，他们只找到了漫山遍野的尸体残骸，两架飞机上的71名人员全部遇难。

事故调查：
事发当晚苏黎士空中管制中心只有皮特·尼尔森一名空管员指挥着这一空域的往来航班。而其它的空管员在另外一个屋子里面休息，这是不符合规定的，但空管员们这一习惯性行为数年来得到了相关管理机构的默认和忽视。
由于空管站处在检修期，当晚有另外几位空管员及部门主管随时淮备着换班，而尼尔森并没有意识到这一点，也可能是他不想让同事冒疲劳工作的风险。

在空难发生前一分钟，尼尔森指挥着一架已经晚点的劳埃德航空公司的班机飞往腓德列斯哈芬机场(Friedrichshafen Airport)。他使用着有故障的电话系统，同时忙于两个控制台之间，以至于直到撞机发生前约1分钟他才通知俄国飞机员降低高度。
如果他能够早一点发出警报及时使两机航线分离，就不会引发两机防碰撞系统的开启。当他预感到自己已经无法同时应付两台控制台的工作而召唤其它空管员帮助时已经太晚了。
