My Mother and My English Teacher
I am very lucky because I have a good mother. She is 38 years old but she is still very beautiful. She is 1.63 metres tall and her weight is 60 kilos. She is not only my mother but also my English teacher and my form master as well.
When I was very young, my mother taught me many simple English words , such as face, bike, nose, eyes, hand and foot, and a few children's songs of English. I still remember that one year when I was five years old I sang an English song "Ten Green Bottles" on the stage for the first time. After that, whenever I went to the kindergarten or walked in the street, people would say, "That little boy could speak English and sing English songs, his mother ia an English teacher." You can hardly imagine how happy I was to hear that. From then on, I showed great interest in English and often learned to speak English from my mother, newspaper and TV. I made some progress ring my childhood.
Later I went to another school to study which was far away from my hometown. Every time I got my mother's letter,there were always some English phrases and sentences in it. In this way,I still had some English to read and it made me want to write more and speak more Enlish.
Time passed quickly. Last year, I came back to my hometown and became a high school student, and it happened that my mother was my English teacher again. I got an even better chance to speak and learn English from my mother.
Every day she speaks English to me, no matter whether we are having dinner or walking on the road. Especially I like my mother's class. Not only I but also my classmates like her. She is kind and friendly to us. She has some interesting ways to make her class lively and interesting. Everybody says that what she teaches in class are not easily forgotten.
Every time I hear my mother is praised by other people, I fell very happy. I know that I have a good mother. She not only teaches me how to learn English well, how to make progress in my study, but also teaches me how to a true man.
This is my mother. She takes good care of me like all mothers do with their own children. But she also pays great attention to all her students like a gardener to all her flowers. She is an ordinary person, but she is great.

How I overcome My Difficulties in Learning English
For a Chinese, the task of learning English well is not easy. So I, like many other English learners, have met with difficulties in learning English ring the past seven years. But I managed to overcome them and made much progress.
The spelling and meaning of words can be said to be the first difficulty I met as a beginner. But I found our my own way to deal with them. As to spelling, I never copied a new work again and again to remember it, but tried to find its relevance to the sound. In fact, as long as I can read the word out, I can write it out. As to the meaning, I rarely recite its Chinese translation but often put the word into the sentence to learn its meaning. Moreover, if you use a word quite often, its spelling and meaning will be no problem. After all, we are learning English in order to use it.
Grammar and idioms may be another difficulty. But I have also got over it. I have not read lots of grammar books. But I spent much time reading the articles written by native speakers or specialists in English. By doing so, I came to gain 「a sense of English language」. I began to gain a feel for which sentences are 「good English」 and which are not.
Finally, I want to say that overcoming all these difficulties requires perseverance. In the past seven years I spent at least an hour on English each day. I believe this is an important reason why I am able to make progress in learning English.
